Sròndoire Community Wind Farm Secures £8million Funding Package

The Sròndoire Community Wind Farm has secured debt funding of £8 million from a new City-based lending platform. The funders include KKR, a leading global investment firm, the Green Investment Bank, owned by the UK Government, and specialist investment managers Temporis Capital LLP, who previously managed the Ventus Funds’ investment in the very successful Allt Dearg Community Wind Farm. Allt Dearg is a sister project to Sròndoire.

Sròndoire Community Wind Farm Gets Underway

After Argyll & Bute Council members approved the changes to the Sròndoire Community Wind Farm tower heights at the monthly Planning Committee meeting on Wednesday 18th June. Work started on Friday 20th June to construct the new access tracks for the 6MW three turbine wind farm adjacent to the Allt Dearg Community Wind Farm.

Allt Dearg reaps the rewards of Keeping It Local

Ardrishaig’s Community Wind Farm Celebrates Bumper Wind Harvest

The Allt Dearg Community Wind Farm, which is partly owned by the Ardrishaig community, has reached record breaking levels of energy production in the first year of operation. The very windy weather that caused problems in Argyll throughout December pushed the wind farm’s energy output close to a monthly Capacity Factor of 75%, and the annual Capacity Factor to over 50%.

The Allt Dearg Community Wind Farm has been shortlisted in the Community Initiative and Best Project categories of the Scottish Green Energy Awards, presented by Scottish Renewables, the trade body that represents the renewable energy industry in Scotland. The winners will be announced at the Scottish Green Energy Awards Dinner on 5th December in Edinburgh.
