Two new Vestas wind turbine technicians have started work at Allt Dearg and Srondoire Wind Farms. James Armour and Robbie McTaggart have recently been recruited by Vestas to replace the previous site crew, who have left Vestas Celtic and have moved on to Vestas offshore turbines. James and Robbie are both local boys from Campbeltown, and are presently undergoing the training required to take on our V52 and V80 turbines.
Steven Wybar is tutoring James, who previously worked for Vestas, and Robbie who also has a background in wind turbines, to ensure they have the in-depth technical knowledge required to keep our turbines properly maintained and available to produce the maximum amount of power. James and Robbie started their working lives together as auto mechanics in Campbeltown, before moving into the wind power industry. In a few months' time they will take on the principal servicing responsibilities for our turbines, hoping to beat the very high standards of production set previously by Kenny and Peter. We are delighted that these secure and good quality jobs should have been secured by local men, retaining the benefit of this employment locally, we are also pleased that having Robbie and James living relatively nearby will ensure they are able to reach site during poor winter weather. Hitting our very high levels of energy production is not simply related to the wind, it also requires the professional dedication of the Vestas Service Team who keep the turbines in first class condition.
