This week's windy weather has provided ideal conditions to put the three Sròndoire turbines through their final endurance tests.
Each of the turbines has to run for 120 hours without pause or intervention from the service crew, to ensure the generation and control equipment is functioning correctly. S3 - " The Dooker" - was the last turbine to complete her five day test, finishing this evening. This concludes the construction phase of the Sròndoire Community Wind Farm, just over two years since the project was given planning consent by Argyll & Bute Council. With the "energy rich" winter months ahead Sròndoire will join Allt Dearg as one of the United Kingdom's most productive wind farms, helping to power Argyll's homes and businesses with clean green energy from our wild weather to 2035 and beyond.
